KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced on July 10 that he has formally invited United States President Donald Trump to attend the upcoming Asean Summit scheduled for October.
In a social media post, Datuk Seri Anwar said the invitation was extended as Malaysia currently holds the chairmanship of Asean. The summit will also include the East Asia Summit, which brings together key regional and global leaders.
Malaysia is set to host the summit as part of its ongoing leadership of Asean for 2025, with the event expected to address a wide range of regional economic, security and geopolitical issues.
