Zelenskiy Sees Stronger Ukraine-India Partnership After Modi Meeting

EVIAN-LES-BAINS, FRANCE — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Wednesday he hopes closer ties and joint projects with India will strengthen both countries after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G7 summit in France.

Posting on Telegram, Zelenskiy said there is “great potential” in giving joint projects more substance and welcomed Modi’s interest in developing mutually beneficial relations with Ukraine. He added that the partnership could make both peoples stronger.

Ukraine has been pursuing deeper engagement with Global South countries since Russia’s 2022 invasion, targeting nations that historically maintained close ties with Moscow during the Soviet era.
