NEW YORK – Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai stands to earn up to $692 million over the next three years under a new compensation plan filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on March 6.
Pichai, leading Google since 2015 and Alphabet since 2019, keeps his $2 million annual salary unchanged at $6 million total, with the bulk in performance-tied stock from Alphabet, Waymo autonomous vehicles ($130 million target), and Wing drone delivery ($45 million target).
The package reflects strong results under his watch, including Alphabet’s market value soaring from $535 billion to $3.6 trillion. Stock vesting depends on share performance and dividends; unvested options forfeit if dismissed. Alphabet praised prior incentives benefiting shareholders, positioning Pichai among top-paid CEOs globally.
