SINGAPORE – Prime Minister Lawrence Wong congratulated Bangladeshi counterpart Tarique Rahman on his decisive win in the February 12 general election, praising the strong mandate as a sign of public confidence in his leadership.
In a letter released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 17, Wong, who also serves as Finance Minister, highlighted the warm, longstanding ties between Singapore and Bangladesh built on mutual respect and people-to-people connections. He pointed to vast opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, investment, port management, digitalisation, and capacity building.
Wong expressed eagerness to collaborate with Rahman to bolster bilateral relations, reaffirming Singapore’s support for Bangladesh’s development path while wishing him health, success, and an early meeting.
